About Us

“What an enterprising choir, and what a challenging and varied programme. The full tone of this group is very exciting” Comments from the Southampton Festival of Music and Drama, 2015

West End Singers is a four-part harmony choir based in Hedge End, Hampshire. We are a warm
and welcoming community of singers of mainly modern music in harmony. We sing everything from
Adele to Vivaldi! Have a look at our Music page to see more of our recent repertoire, or see our
“highlights” reel below!

We are a not-for-profit group as we re-invest all funds back into the choir, with the sole exception of funds that we specifically raise for charity.

We typically perform two main concerts a year, usually in June and December, as well as up to
four other engagements, including fundraising events for charity, and the occasional flashmob! We
perform from memory, which allows us to engage fully with the audience and with Simon Irwin, our
Musical Director, and doing this gives us all a huge buzz! Simon is a great conductor whose
enthusiasm brings out the best in our performances.

Our members pay a monthly subscription, which is currently £32, paid in advance by Standing
Order. Student rates are available on application. There are no additional charges for music.

REDUCED RATE FOR NEW MEMBERS FEB-MAY 2023

Joining us

If you’re interested in joining us, please come and try us out! We encourage new members to join
in a free taster rehearsal or two before applying to join – that way you can see what we’re like, the
atmosphere of the rehearsal, and the type of music we might sing.

Use the Contact page to get in touch with our Membership Secretary for more information and to
arrange a visit to rehearsal.

See our Events page for our upcoming events.
